Summary Eight people have been killed in Karachi in different incidents of target killing and firing.

In incidents of targeted killings Wednesday eight persons including workers of Pakistan People’s Party were killed while three cars were put on fire.Sources said that in the jurisdiction of Pakistan Bazaar police station, two youths, namely Ali Raza and Jahangir got injured due to firing by unidentified persons and consequently died. Sources in Police said they were PPP workers and residents of Orangi town. The incident gave way to tension in the area.In addition, a body was found from the Gulshan Zia area. It was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital and was identified as that of Sohail Kareem.Another body was recovered from the limits of Manghupeer Police Station and was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital but could not be identified.Meanwhile, the funeral of those being a victim to firing in the funeral of a Shiite scholar, namely Syed Faraz Haider and Ali Hassan, was held before Imam Bargah, Bab-ul-Ilm. After the funeral of the two men, the violent people put a bus and truck near Irum shopping centre to fire.The scenario led to closure of all business centres and absence of traffic on roads.Moreover, unidentified persons burnt Suzuki number CL-7460 in PIB colony on Wednesday morning.Meanwhile, infuriated people on Wednesday set on fire three vehicles in Sakhi Hassan area as sectarian tension gripped the city following Tuesday’s firing incidents, media reports said.Officials said a truck was torched near Haroon shopping center in Shadman area, a bus near Five Star Chowrangi and a car in North Nazimabad soon after funerals of two people, who were killed in firing on Tuesday, were offered in city’s locality.Some enraged youths also pelted public vehicles with stones as police and Rangers contingents arrived in the area to control the situation.Earlier, hundreds of people in Buffer Zone area attended funeral prayer of three persons who were killed on Tuesday when armed men opened fire on funerals of Allama Agha Aftab Haider Jaffari.He was shot dead along with two associated in Sadar area on Tuesday morning. His death triggered protests and fueled sectarian tension in the city.
