Prime Minister Azad Kashmir Sardar Yaqoob has resigned from his post. He announced his resignation in a press conference late Wednesday night. He said that he sent his resignation to the President Azad Kashmir at 7.30pm on Wednesday. He said that he has resigned without any pressure. On the other hand, the voting on the no-trust motion against Prime Minister Sardar Yaqoob was to be held today. Muzaffarabad had witnessed political restlessness even before the voting. The political bargain was on the peak by the government and the opposition. The voting on the no-trust motion against the coalition government of Azad Kashmir was to be held on Thursday for which the National Assemblys session had been called on at 10:00am today. Earlier, opposition leader Sardar Attique showed his political strength in a press conference in Muzaffarabad. Attique presented 25 parliamentarians before media and claimed his majority in the parliament. The government of Azad Kashmir was formed with a majority of 31 members. Led by Sardar Yaqoob, the government comprised of Al Jammu Muslim Conference, Forward Bloc, Peoples Party, Peoples Muslim League and MQM. Sardar Attique is leading the All Jammu Kashmir Muslim Conference. All Jammu Kashmir Muslim Conference members Murtza Gilani, Chaudhay Ismail and Shamim Malik forwarded no-trust motion to the speaker Ghulam Qadir. On the other hand, the ruling party had also started contacts with various political groups. But the PM Sardar Yaqoob resigned even before the session. After his resignation, National Assemblys session would not be called today.
