The ideology regarding national defence is changing with the passage of time, said the Chief Justice while addressing the participants of the seventh management course here.He stated that being the guardian of the Constitution, it is the responsibility of the Supreme Court to ensure the supremacy of the Constitution in connection with the actions of state institutions and authorities.He said the structure of the Supreme Court, its powers and parameters have been determined by the Constitution.The Chief Justice stressed that a well-trained and capable bureaucracy was needed to run the state institutions besides tackling the social and economic challenges.He said the judiciary was trying to make good the mistakes committed in the past by registering a new history. (We are) safeguarding the fundamental rights and establishing the writ of the law, he added.
