Summary Delegations have started arriving in Islamabad to participate in the conference.
The sixth conference of the Association of SAARC Speakers and Parliamentarians begins in Islamabad on Sunday.President Asif Ali Zardari will inaugurate the three-day conference.Delegates from India‚ Bangladesh‚ Sri Lanka‚ Maldives‚ Afghanistan and Bhutan are likely to participate in the event.The main objective of the conference is to strengthen people-to-people contact for achieving mutual understanding‚ trust and friendship among the people of the region.Deputy Speaker Faisal Karim Kundi in a statement said the conference will promote positive image of Pakistan and the participants would be informed about four years performance of the parliament.He said all SAARC member countries will attend the conference. He said international community is acknowledging the democratic system in Pakistan.The Deputy Speaker said the conference would also be attended by the speakers of four provincial assemblies of Pakistan.
