Summary Aitzaz Ahsan has asserted that PPP will give a surprise in the upcoming general elections.
“The incumbent government term stands up to March, 18 and the elections will be held in time on expiry of the term.The impression that PPP has lost its prestige is wrong.It will give surprise in the next elections”, he said this while talking to media men on the occasion of Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) here Wednesday.He held verdict in Asghar Khan case was appreciable. However a transparent inquiry be held in this regard. This decision has shut the door to the dictatorship once for all. However equating Ishaq Khan and president Asif Ali Zardari is wrong, he added.He went on to say powers for taking suo motu notice were indefinite and it provides no room for filing any appeal.“However I will ask new cabinet of SCBA to meet the judges and see the matter of suo motu notice”, he underlined.He maintained PPP took a clear stance on Malala issue while the other parties remained hesitant.About SCBA elections he said political parties interfere in bar elections.He once again announced his attachment with lawyers’ movement and complained those who offered salat behind former chief justice of Pakistan Abdul Hamid Dogar have now become champion of this movement.
