Summary US President Barack Obama has extended greetings to all Muslims on Hajj and Eid-ul-Azha.
In a statement issued by the White House on Friday, he wished Muslims celebrating Eid-ul-Azha, and those performing Hajj.Michelle and I extend our best wishes for a joyful Eid al-Adha to Muslims in the United States and around the world. We also congratulate the millions of peaceful pilgrims who are performing the Hajj, including thousands of American Muslims, he stated.He also took the opportunity to reflect on the philosophy behind Hajj and Eid-ul-Azha, which highlights the spirit of sacrifice.Throughout the year, Muslims join members of many faiths in serving those suffering from hunger, disease, and conflict. Muslim communities will continue this practice as they celebrate Eid by distributing food and charity to those in need, Obama said.The US President, himself the son of a Kenyan Muslim father, appreciated the acts of comapssion in every religion.
