Summary SC has accepted review petition filed by Rehman Malik in dual nationality case against him.
Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Tuesday filed a review petition in the Supreme Court against its ruling in the dual-nationality case.The court in its September 20 order declared that Rehman Malik could no longer be considered ‘sadiq (righteous) and ameen (honest), stating that the minister had submited falsedeclaration about his British nationality at the time of filing his nomination papers.The apex court had also ruled that 11 lawmakers holding dual nationalities were not eligible to hold any public office and declared all such lawmakers as disqualified.The interior minister in his response stated that the court declared the verdict without hearing him. He termed the courts decision as ‘unlawful’.
