Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashrafhas said that SC verdict in Asghar Khan case has exposed those who rigged 1990 elections.Addressing a publice gathering organized by PPP Gujar Khan at Sawar Muhammad Shaheed Stadium,The PMsaid that President Asif Ali Zardari had shown his confidence in a worker like him and appointed him as prime minister.He said those who keep on conducting surveys should see this gathering that show that the PPP can never be defeated. He said we will defeat the opponents in the next general elections.The Prime Minister said verdict in the Asghar Khan case vindicated the stance of the PPP that the 1990 elections were rigged and the mandate of the people was stolen. He said Shaheed Benazir Bhutto had also remarked that the said elections were rigged. He said instead of listening to her genuine grievance‚ efforts were made to declare her a security risk.He said the verdict revealed the truth before the world. He said it exposed many faces involved in the conspiracy and media trial against PPP.Raja Pervez Ashraf said conspiracies were always hatched to snatch the mandate of Pakistan Peoples Party. He said now no one will be allowed to commit a dacoity on the mandate of the people.He said Pakistan Peoples Party is a popular party and todays attendance of the public meeting at large scale is proof of it.The PM said PPP leaders Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto rendered immense sacrifices for democracy and for the rights of the common man. He said Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto also gave voice to the common man and gave the right of vote.He said it was the vision of Shaeed Benazir Bhutto to take along all the parties. He said President Asif Ali Zardari is taking forward the reconciliation policy envisioned by Shaheed Benazir Bhutto.The Prime Minister said under the leadership of President Asif Ali Zardari we will work for the development and prosperity of the country and welfare of the people.He said we standby with our law enforcing agencies and armed forces to root out terrorism. He said PPP will defend the country.The Prime Minister announced setting up of IT University in Gujar Khan. He said IT labs and centres will be established in every school and college of the area.He said efforts are underway to make Tehsil Gujar Khan a district. He said he talked to Punjab Chief Minister in this regard.Earlier‚ the Prime Minister inaugurated and laid foundation stone of different development projects worth over twelve billion rupees in Gujar Khan including gas, electricity supply projects, road construction and lawyers’ chamber complex..
