Summary Pakistan Steel Mills faced loss of Rs 76.96 billion in last four years.
The Senate session on Tuesday was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Chairman Senate Sabir Baloch.Federal Minister for Production Anwar Ali Cheema informed the Senate in a written reply that Pakistan Steel Mills faced a loss of Rs 21.43 million during 2011-12 while the total deficit during last four years reached over Rs 76 billion.He told only iron and coal are imported from other countries instead of any steel product.Federal Minster Makhdoom Amin Faheem told the House in his written reply that the trade deficit during 2010-12 has reached Rs 36.87 billion.PML-N senators staged walkout against the absence of the federal mister from the House while MQM senators again staged walk out against the imposition of taxes on international telephone calls.Senator Tahir Mashadi of MQM said that getting extortion from the overseas Pakistanis should be stopped.Senator Mir Hasil Bizenjo demanded that the government should invite the international agencies for the relief of flood victims.
