A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry on Wednesday resumed hearing into an alleged wani incident at SCs Quetta registry/ .During case hearing, Balochistan’s Assembly Member, Tariq Masoori refused any involvement in the incident. He told court that he did not preside any jirga to settle the feud between two tribes.MPA Tariq Masoor further told court that his rivals were propagating against him.The bench directed the district deputy commissioner, Saeed Faisal, to make sure that the girls appear in the court.As per details, the alleged trade happened in the Dera Bugti district of Balochistan province between two sub-tribes of the Bugti tribe, one of the more prominent tribes in the province.The girls were reportedly between four and 13 years old.The tradition of families exchanging unmarried girls to settle feuds is banned under Pakistani law but still practiced in the country’s more conservative, tribal areas.
