Summary Petroleum prices are once again likely to go up by Rs 3 per liter from Sunday.
Well placed sources told Online that all petroleum products except diesel would witness increase in per liter prices in accordance with the estimation so far to determine future prices of the petroleum products for the upcoming week.The Source informed keeping in view the upward trend in oil prices by $2 per barrel in the international oil market petroleum products would be increased in the country.A ship arrived in Pakistan this week carrying 35,000 tons of petrol at a higher price than the previous shipment prices of petroleum products and following the mechanism for setting the price of fuel was to average out the cost of all fuels and hence a notification raising the price of petrol was expected at midnight on Sunday, source added.Sources told that it has been decided that Motor spirit (MS) would be increase by Rs 3 per liter, Light Diesel Oil (LDO) by 35 paisa per liter, used for industrial purposes and kerosene oil by Rs0.60 per liter which is used as fuel remote areas where liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) is not available for domestic use and Rs 3.10 per liter decrease is expected in the price of High Speed Diesel (HSD) which is mainly used in transport vehicles and agriculture sector to further add the miseries of common man.Sources appraised that after the imposition of a new price mechanism for High Octane Blended Component (HOBC) under which its price will vary in various cities of the country however Rs 1 per liter would be an average increase in per liter price of high octane blended component which is produced by PARCO.Similarly in line with the set mechanism under which CNG price should stand at 60 percent of petrol price, per kilogram price of Compressed Natural gas would also witness raise of Rs 2.60 per kg during upcoming week.The new prices of would be Petrol at Rs 105.45 against the current price of 102.45, new price of kerosene oil would be Rs 100.63 per liter, Light Diesel Oil (LDO) would be Rs 95.87 per liter while after small relief High Speed Diesel would stand at Rs 110.16 per liter. Price of High Octane Blended Component (HOBC) would be Rs 132.26 per liter for the next week.
