Summary NADRA has crossed key milestone as it announced formal launch of national cash remittance program.

It aimed at facilitating overseas Pakistanis in disbursing foreign remittances/cash to their loved ones back home.According to the statement issued here on Tuesday, the citizens of Pakistan now have at their disposal more than 117 NADRA Registration Centers designated so far all over Pakistan from which they can receive foreign remittance sent by their relatives living abroad.Launching ceremony of the joint venture between NADRA and H&H Exchange Co was held at NADRA Headquarters, Islamabad. This project will enable NADRA centers to process inward home remittances from abroad for the general public using smart national identity cards.NADRA has successful deployed infrastructure across the designated registration centers for facilitating the citizens of Pakistan in receiving funds in a safe and timely manner.ID card is no more just an identity document, it is about entitlements, said Chairman NADRA Tariq Malik while promising that NADRA intends to roll out citizen centric smart e Government programs.“People across Pakistan now can simply walk into NADRA centers and get their remitted money at designated network of NADRA outlets,” said the chairman, while also expressing his resolve to further promote the facility to the remaining Registration Centers where the system isn’t currently available by this year end.The chairman noted that foreign remittance is crucial to the sustainability of the nation’s economy, and this significant program is directly aimed at facilitating and promoting the disbursement of money to Pakistan.The chairman added that NADRA, through its services, has once again lived up to the nation’s expectations as a pioneer in e-commerce solutions, facilitating wide segment of public, especially from rural areas to engage in financial transactions at their door step. We are fulfilling the governments objective to promote & enhance the outreach to un-banked and less-privileged members of our community, he added.It is worth adding that NADRA has already designed an automated system for financial institutions and telecom operators for branch-less banking with currency transactions of e-Sahulat touch points acting as a hallmark of technological innovation.Details of designated NADRA Registration Centers will be communicated to the public subsequently through leading print and electronic sources as well as NADRA and H&H Exchange Co.’s websites.
