Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani on Thursday said that reconciliation policy has supported the democracy and no one can declare Pakistan as a terrorist or failed state. Addressing the Benazir Employees Stock Option Scheme (BESOS) and workers convention, the PM said that workers and labourers also have ownership right. He said that steps are being taken to empower the poor. Benazir Employees Stock Option Scheme will benefit 0.5 million labourers while under Benazir Tractor and Green Card Scheme millions of rupees are being spent on the poor. Acting Governor Gilgit-Baltistan Kamar Zaman Kaira said workers in the 80 percent institutions will have 12 per cent shares. Finance Minister Shaukat Tareen said that solid steps were being taken to make the economy stronger.
