Summary The EC is considering to increase the national and provincial assemblies seats for Balochistan.
A meeting of Election Commission chaired by Chief Election Commissioner Fakhruddin G Ibrahim held to build consensus on next general elections and preparation of code of ethics for political parties. Leaders of eighteen political parties attended the meeting.The EC Secretary Ishtiaq Ahmad Khan said that there was a proposal to increase National Assembly seats for Balochistan from fourteen to thirty. He said that members with dual nationality can’t sit in parliament and they would not be allowed to contest elections.
