Summary At least 12 people were killed Wednesday in different incidents of firing and violence in Karachi.
While the man and his sons killed on Tuesday night were laid to rest. The situation became tense on the eve of funeral prayer due to which shopping centres were closed.In the first incident, a political worker Zafer and another citizen Abid Jan were gunned down by armed men on motor bike in the area of Gulbahar.In the same way, Khalid Punjabi was injured by the firing of unidentified men and was rushed to hospital but could not survive. Separately, a citizen named Jamil was shot dead in the area of Dalmia.In Gulberg, Zahir Abbas was gunned down by armed men while Naeem Baloch was shot dead by unidentified miscreants in Ornagi Town Faqeer Colony.Besides, a political worker was condemned to death near Korangi industrial area. A disfigured body was also found from Layari Mirza Adam Khan Road. The victim could not be identified accordingly.On the other hand, the funeral prayer of Muhammad Raza and his two sons killed by terrorists in Joria Bazar on Tuesday night was offered outside the Imam Bargah Shah Khurasan led by Maulana Shabbir Ahmad.After funeral prayer, people shouted slogans against the establishment and the government as both of them had failed to provide shelter to the people who were mercilessly being killed.Following this chaotic situation, shops and other business points were closed particularly in the area of Soldier Bazar. As precautionary measures heavy contingents of Rangers was deployed there in to avoid any untoward incident.
