Summary Qamar Zaman Kaira has said that government has prepared draft of the letter to Swiss authorities.
Ex-chairman Senate and renowned law maker Waseem Sajjad gave it final shape at his chamber.The copy of letter comprising two pages has been sent to President Asif Ali Zardari who is on his official visit to New York.Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf and Law Minister also have been sent the copy of the letter each.According to sources, Swiss authorities have been requested to take back the letter filed by Malik Qayyum.Apart from this, the issue of President’s exemption also has been raised in the letter.Minister for Information and Broadcasting Qamar Zaman Kaira has said that the letter would be produced in the court tomorrow by the Law Minister. There is no change in government’s stance, said federal minister.While talking to the media representative at the parliament house, Minister for Information said that neither the government has taken u-turn over letter to Swiss authorities nor has it changed its stance in this regard.He said that the government has prepared a draft while keeping in view the middle way on the direction of the court. The reservations of the federation also have been kept in view in the draft of the letter, said the federal minister.Furthering his statement, Kaira said that the subject matter of the letter may be changed if the apex court expresses its reservations. He said that the law minister would submit the letter in the court tomorrow.He made it clear that the recommendations of middle way were suggested by the court not by the government.
