Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf has said all available resources will be utilized for the relief and rehabilitation of flood affected people in Southern Punjab.Addressing the flood-hit people in Rojhan Mazari on Saturday‚ he said ration‚ medicines‚ tents and other necessities of life will be provided to the flood victims on priority basis.Expressing grief over the damage caused by rains and floods to houses and crops in Rojhan Mazari‚ the Prime Minister announced one hundred million rupees for uninterrupted supply of ration to the people of the area.He said he has also directed the National Disaster Management Authority and Baitul Maal to reach the rain affected areas to meet their needs.He said that he is sending WAPDA engineers to the area to find a permanent solution to the problem‚ and ensure the safety of the people and their crops as well as their properties.Prime Minster Pervez Ashraf said that we have to deal with the natural calamities unitedly and help each other at this hour of trial. He lauded the good work done by the peoples representatives and greeted the people for electing sincere representatives.He said that he is visiting the area on the telephonic advice of President Asif Ali Zardri from London.Governor Punjab Sardar Latif Khan Khosa‚ former Prime Minister Mir Balakh Sher Mazari‚ Finance Minister Hafeez Sheikh‚ Makhdum Shahabuddin‚ Rana Farooq Saeed‚ Sardar Dost Muhammad Mazari and Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan were present on the occasion.Earlier‚ District Coordination Officer Rajanpur‚ Ghazi Amanullah briefed the Prime Minister about devastations caused by flood.The Prime Minister was told that the flood has affected six hundred thousand people‚ destroyed twenty thousand houses and damaged crops on two hundred and twelve thousand acres of land in district Rajanpur.The Prime Minister was told that nearly three thousand relief camps are working in the district to provide relief to the affected people.The Prime Minister also took an aerial view of the area.
