Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf‚ addressing the Ishq-e-Rasool (SAW) Conference in Islamabad has called upon the world community to declare blasphemy despicable and a criminal act.He said the United Nations should frame laws to stop blasphemous acts that are disturbing the world peace.PM Ashraf stressed that a resolution is needed, which has international support and protection so that sacrilegious acts could be averted in future.Prime Minister pointed out that the blasphemous film made by an American has caused anger among Muslims.He said this is not freedom of expression. This is more about hatred and demonstrates blatant double standards.Prime Minister Pervez Ashraf said an attack on the Prophet Hazrat Mohammad (Peace Be Upon Him) is an attack on the core belief of 1.5 billion Muslims.He said we appreciate those in the international community who joined Muslims in condemning this act.Prime Minister said the holy Prophet gave the message of peace and harmony.He appealed the nation to maintain peace and avoid violence. He urged the religious scholars to use their influence over masses to help stopping the violence.Prime Minister said Pakistan is the only country that condemned this incident at the state level.The parliament and cabinet unanimously passed the resolutions of condemnation against the sacreligious act.
