More than hundred protesters arrested while raids were being conducted against Jamaat-e-Islami leaders as city observes shutter-down strike.The public transport has been disrupted in the city while most of the CNG stations and petrol pumps have also been closed in the wake of the strike.Jamaat-e-Islami announced to hold a strike in Karachi against the killing of former town nazim Pervez Mehmood, poor law and order situation and increasing incidents of extortion in the city.Protesters burnt tyes and blocked traffic in New Karachi, Lyari, Nazimabad, Sher Shah and Shahrah-e-Faisal.Angry mob also set a truck on fire in Quaidabad.Rangers dispersed the demonstrators when they protested near airport.Meanwhile, tense situation prevails in the city as firing continues in Lee market.
