Legal expert Ahmad Raza Kasuri said if government was to write letter to Swiss authorities through law ministry then why the matter was put on hold for two and half year. The letter could be written during premiership of Yusuf Raza Gilani. Why Gilani was made political martyr and scapegoat, he questioned.Suleman Akram Raja said matter would stand disposed of if government writes letter with sincerity and seriousness to Swiss authorities in line with Supreme Court (SC) verdict and if it plays any trick then court would review the draft. If non compliance continues then the matter will remain intact, he added.Justice (Retd) Nasra Javed Iqbal said sitting prime minister has adopted the course of reconciliation. Prime Minister will remain responsible till court’s orders are not implemented and receipt is not presented to court.Justice (Retd) Wajihuddin termed it a good movement forward. Court has now to see what type of letter has been written and what words have been used therein.This fact should be kept in mind that contempt of court proceeding was still there as exemption from attendance in the court means proceeding would further go.It was necessary to grant exemption to the accused from appearance in the court on the respective date as he was proceeding to abroad on foreign trip, he held. As far as the letter is concerned, anyone can present it in the court and law minister can also present it, he underlined.
