Summary Awami National Party has summoned an emergency meeting today to discuss the matter.

ANP spokesperson Zahid Khan while issuing a statement on Friday said the ordinance which is not acceptable by the people of Sindh will also be unacceptable to his party, Dunya News reported.Meanwhile‚ Awami National Party and Muslim League Functional have convened their meetings today to discuss the new local bodies system and decide their stance on it.Yesterday, Sindh Governor Ishrat-ul-Ebad promulgated the Sindh Peoples Local Government Ordinance (SPLGO) 2012, bringing new system for governance in the province with immediate effect.The ruling coalition partners PPP and MQM had reached a consensus on provisions of the ordinance during their meeting on Thursday night.The new system will be functional in five districts of the province which included Karachi‚ Hyderabad‚ Sukkur‚ Larkana and Mirpurkhas.These cities have been declared metropolitan corporations. Remaining part of the province will have eighteen district councils.Under the new ordinance Karachi will have eighteen towns.
