Summary Flash flood triggered by torrential rain swept away thirteen people this morning.
At least thirteen people drowned in flash flood near Machiara village of Azad Kashmir on Wednesday morning.As per details, the tragic mishap took place when the victims were collecting woods near the seasonal nullah.Rescue efforts were launched at the site, however, seven bodies have been recovered so far.According to reports, intermittent rainfall which started on Tuesday night continued lashing different parts of Azad Kashmir. Some of the roads were also blocked due to land sliding.In a separate incident, a woman and her two-year-old kid died apparently due to lightning in the same village, some 40km away from Muzaffarbad.Pakistan Metrological Department has forecasted more rain in upper areas of Azad Kashmir during next 24 hours.
