Summary The Supreme Court resumed hearing of a petition on the law and order situation in Balochistan.
A three-judge bench of the apex court, comprising Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, Justice Khilji Arif Hussain and Justice Jawad S. Khawaja, heard the case at Supreme Court Quetta registry on Wednesday.During the proceedings, the bench expressed dissatisfaction over the absence of interior and defense secretaries.Stating the reason of interior secretarys absence, the deputy attorney general stated that he wasn’t able to get a flight.Inspector General of Frontier Corps (IGFC) major Obaidullah Khattak said that his team was trying to resolve the issue of missing persons on which the chief justice remarked that the top priority was to recover all the missing persons.Addressing the IG FC, chief justice said that they have failed to restore peace in the city, adding that no development has taken place in the missing persons’ case so far.
