Talking to Dunya news, Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) sources said that raids were conducted in different areas of Multan and Islamabad after court dismissed bail pleas of two high-profile accused in the ephedrine scam Ali Musa Gilani and Federal Minister for Textile Makhdoom Shahabuddinbut arrests could not be made.The sources told that both the accused have disconnected all means through which they can be contacted, adding that the PPP top leadership had provided shelter to both the accused.ANF officials said that Makhdoom Shahabuddin showed his consent for arrest after his bail plea was dismissed by Lahore High Court Rawalpindi bench. However, he hasn’t made any contact with the investigation team as yet.Earlier, the LHC Rawalpindi Bench – comprising Justice Ibad-ur-Rehman Lodhi and Justice Khawaja Imtiaz Ahmed - dismissed the bail plea of the two PPP stalwarts and remarked that they misused their positions. The judges also observed that the extra-ordinary relief of pre-arrest bail could not be extended to the two accused at the crucial stage of the case. The bench had reserved the verdict on August 29.
