Summary Lawyers in District and High Court Bar Multan went on strike over collapse of chambers in Jampur.
Clients have complained that they have to face hectic problems due to strike of lawyers.On the call of Punjab Bar Council, the lawyers’ community in Multan in both lower and high courts has held strike as district government has demolished chambers of their colleagues in Jampur. Due to this, hearing of hundreds of cases was not possible.Protesting lawyers also waved black flag on the buildings of district and High Court bars. In this regard, they also called a meeting in which lawyers’ leaders said that chambers of their colleagues were demolished on the order of Assistant Commissioner who undoubtedly has violated rules and regulations of the state.They also appealed to the Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif for action against government servants involved in demolishing chambers of lawyers in Jampur courts; otherwise, they would expand the circle of protest to the provincial level.
