Breakthrough in talks with young doctors: Salman Rafiq

Summary Khwaja Saad Rafiq Sunday said most of the demands of young doctors have been accepted.

Advisor to Punjab Chief Minister on Health Khwaja Salman Rafiq Sunday held a meeting with the representatives of Young Doctors Association in Lahore.Talking to newsmen Salman said the issues have been resolved with the doctors and most of their demands have been accepted.“Doctors have 40 demands out of which most have been principally accepted,” Salman said.The advisor said doctors wanted that their demands should be accepted before September 5.He said all issues with the young doctors will be settled after a meeting with them on Monday or Tuesday.The Young Doctors Association had last week threatened to go on strike if their demands were not met.Earlier the doctors had called off their strike after the verdict of the Lahore High Court. However, the doctors said Punjab government had not taken any initiative to revise their service and pay structure.
