The court has ordered the Christian girl accused of blasphemy to be held in prison for two more weeks as police finalize charges.Rimsha Masih was presented before the court of judicial magistrate amid tight security in Islamabad on Friday.During the course of proceedings, the investigation office sought more time to present challan as investigation wasn’t completed.The court extended the judicial remand of the girl for 2 weeks and directed the officer to complete the investigation till then. The girls lawyer, Tahir Naveed Chaudhry, said the courts decision Friday was procedural, since her initial detention ended the day before. He said he hopes to free her on bail Saturday.TV video showed the girl in court covered in a white sheet to protect her identity. She was surrounded by police.One of her neighbors has accused her of burning pages from Islams holy book, the Quran. Others have disputed that.Questions have been raised about her age and whether she is mentally impaired.A medical report released this week said she was 14 and that her mental state did not correspond with her age.
