Parliamentary commission for creation of new provinces (PCNP) has been challenged in the court.

Barrister Zafarullah in his petition on Thursday submitted that president has no right form a commission for creation of new provinces, only assemblies can decide on the matter.He said that formation of this commission conflicts with clause I, II, V and VIII of article 239.The petitioner also accused that commission has only been formed to gain political favours from several other parties.Barrister Zafarullah requested the court to ban the commission and issue orders for formation of a new commission under the constitution.
