PPP core committee is meeting in Islamabad to decide whether PM should appear in Supreme Court.Intense consultations are on in Islamabad to decide whether Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz should appear before the Supreme Court on August, 27.A meeting of PPP core committee is taking place in Islamabad to discuss the issue.Prime Minister Raja Ashraf Pervaiz Friday night went to President’s House to attend the meeting.According to sources Attorney General of Pakistan has advised the PM not to appear in the court on August 27, and defy the court orders.Hawks in the PPP are also of the same view.The decision is going to have serious repercussions in political life of the country.Government is also considering a middle way so as to avoid clash with the judiciary.Attorney General of Pakistan Irfan Qadir said Friday that Prime Minister’s designation is more powerful as compared to the judges and he is not accountable to the courts.Irfan Qadir added that the final decision on the contempt of court case against Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf will be taken within two days.While talking to the media, outside the Supreme Court, he said that, “all the positions fall under the authority of Prime Minister after President. If all are equal in the eyes of law then the Supreme Court should also call 18 million people.”Moreover, Attorney General said that, Supreme Court should not have summoned the Prime Minister to appear before the court and they cannot ask the prime minister to write a letter.He also added that he will continue to follow the constitution of Pakistan regardless of what the court says.
