Kaira vows to maintain free media at any cost

Acting Governor of Gilgit-Baltistan Qamar Zaman Kaira said freedom of media would be maintained at any cost. Addressing an oath taking ceremony of officials of Gilgit Press Club and Gilgit Union of Journalists, Kaira reiterated that maintaining freedom of media was his democratic governments principle. He directed the chief secretary to meet the owners of the newspapers and resolve their issues. The acting governor vowed to lay foundation stone of Media Colony during his next visit. Earlier, President of the Press Club Mehboob Khayyam and President Union of Journalists Imtiaz Ali Taj briefed Kaira about the problems being faced by the journalists.
