Summary Eight women were killed in stampede at Pir Jo Goth shrine near Khairpur in Sindh province.
According to details, a stampede after Pir of Pagara, Sibghatullah Shah Rashdi’s public appearance at Dargah Sharif resulted in the deaths of at least eight people on Monday.The head of shrine’s administration, Jan Mohammad Mangrio, said the tragedy unfolded when thousands of Hurs, the followers of Pir of Pagara, were leaving Dargah’s premises after feasting their eyes on their spiritual leader’s divine visage.“It was too hot and humid, suffocation led to most of the deaths in the wake of a sudden stampede, some received serious injuries after they were trampled over by the crowd”, he said.The bodies of the deceased have been sent to their hometowns for burial, Mangrio confirmed.
