Doctor's abduction: PMA warns to close emergencies

Summary PMA has threatened to close emergency service against the abduction of a doctor.

Pakistan Medical Association has warned to close emergency wards and not to provide medical assistance to Chief Ministers, Provincial Ministers and members of assembly if abducted Doctor Ghulam Rasool Kakar was not recovered.PMA President Doctor Sultan Tareen and others including Dr, Shahid Mari, Dr Shehnaz Baloch expressed these views while addressing protest organised for early release of Dr, Ghulam Rasool in front of Quetta press club.They criticized the government for her failure to provide security to doctors as common people along with doctors are being kidnapped in board day light.He reiterated that they would protest till the recovery of their colleague Dr, Ghulam Rasool. Continuing their onslaught on the government, they said that they can protest and boycott hospitals but all this would fall on deaf ears.IG police, Chief Ministers, Provincial Ministers along with Chief secretary are not playing their role in the recovery of kidnapping doctor. They show their ignorance about the identity of abductors where as even common people know who the kidnappers are.They gave the government 24 hours ultimatum for the recovery of Dr Ghulam Rasool, Doctor Akbar and Dr Deen Mohammed else they will close emergency services in the hospitals and would not provide medical assistance to Chief Ministers, Provincial Ministers and members of Assembly and even their families.They said that the government does not care for them then neither they do.Our protest would not be bound at the provincial level we will take it at the government level and we appeal to the Central leadership of PMA to not to provide the medical facilities to Ministers and their families.They also appealed to the Commander southern Command to play a role in recovery of Dr, Ghulam Rasool they said the lawyers were with us but now they are not but we requested them to join us.They also appealed to the political parties, civil society, and lawyers and media person to participate in our protest.
