Summary The bench granted a three-week time to NAB officials for implementation of court orders.
A three-member bench headed by chief justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry heard the case against former chairman OGRA Tauqeer Sadiq.Other members of the bench incude Justice Jawwad S Khwaja and Justice Tariq Parvez.During the proceeding, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) presented the report over the recovery of 83 billion rupees. The report said that ORGRA increased unaccounted from gas (UFG) from 5 to 7 percent, causing a loss of 44 billion rupees to national exchequer.Tauqeer Sadiq’s lawyer Abdul Basit said that his client left for abroad in a legal manner, adding that he was residing in New York.The Chief Justice inquired that despite Sadiq’s name on the exit control list (ECL) how he managed to travel to New York.The bench barred Abdul Basit from presenting further arguments.
