Additional Chief Secretary FATA Habibullah Khan said that there were at least 5,000 Uzbek militants in the North and South Waziristan while India, Israel, Iran and the US were disturbing the situation of tribal areas. Federal Minister Najmuddin said that Musharrafs PCO was still imposed in tribal areas. Giving a briefing to Senates Standing Committee, Additional Chief Secretary FATA Habibullah Khan said that peace was still not established in North and South Waziristan, Orakzai Agency and Mohmand Agency along with Parachinar. At least 500 personnel of Khasadar force abandoned their duties on threats from outlawed Lashkar-e-Islam chief Mangal Bagh. While criticising the security forces operation on his illegal FM radio channel, Mangal Bagh had threatened to attack members of parliament, security forces personnel and Khasadars if they did not resign. As a result, 500 Khasadars out of a total of 1100 did not appear today.
