India trying to pressurize Pakistan before General Assembly session

A meeting between President Asif Ali Zardari and Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is expected besides the foreign secretaries meeting on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly session starting at the end of this month in New York. However, India is engaged in variety of efforts to coerce Pakistan before the meetings. Both the countries are expected to discuss issues of reducing tensions between both the countries and resolution of all other problems through dialogue. During the NAM summit at Sharm El Sheikh, Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani and his Indian counterpart Manmohan Singh had agreed to continue the process of dialogue despite any terrorism incident, however, few days before the General Assembly session Indian External Affairs Minister S M Krishna said that negotiations and terrorism could not go side by side. On the other hand, he confirmed that leaders from both sides would meet on the sidelines of the session. Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi emphasized that the two countries needed to address their issues through dialogue.
