Prime Minister Raja Parvez Ashraf has directed to ensure effective implementation of new business plan framed for the restructuring of Pakistan International Airlines.Chairing a meeting on the performance of PIA in Islamabad on Wednesday‚ he said the government will extend all out support to the new administration of PIA for implementation of the restructuring plan.He said the new business plan should be implemented immediately so that the people could see a visible change in the performance of the national flag carrier.The PM appreciated PIAs initiative to carry Hajis from Iraq‚ Myanmar‚ Sri Lanka and Bangladesh‚ enabling them to perform Hajj. However‚ he observed that these operations should in no way create any cause of complaints for Hajis traveling from Pakistan.The Prime Minister instructed the Minister of Finance to provide 4.5 million dollars to PIA to improve its performance.PIA Chairman Air Chief Marshal (Retd) Rao Qamar Suleman briefed the Prime Minister about the salient features of the business plan worked out by the new management.
