Summary Justice Shakarulla Jan in his remarks in CoC case has said it was a discriminatory law.

A five-member bench of Supreme Court is hearing the case against the Contempt of Court law.Member of the bench Justice Shakarulla Jan remarked during the hearing that the said law was discriminatory as it gives protection only to a particular class of society.Addressing the counsel of the federation CJP said it cannot be said that the contempt of court was not a matter of public interest, as the prime minister of the country has been dismissed because of this law.He said the law has been rejected by the general public and Pakistan Bar Council.CJP said it was wrong to say that there was nothing wrong with the new law.When Abdul Shakoor Piracha said the Opposition leader in the parliament starts making speeches at the remarks of judiciary, Justice Jawad Khwaja said Opposition leader expresses his own views.
