Cities of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are witnessing severe loadshedding during Ramazan. Angry resident staged protest in several cities against long hours of power outages.In Pakpattan, people came on roads to register their protest against severe loadshedding, The demonstrators blocked the road at Chowk Jamal. Police baton charged the protesters and used tear gas and to disperse them while the demonstrators hurled bricks on the cops due to which four police officials received injuries.In Multan, loadshedding-stricken porters blocked the roads by burning tyres. They also chanted slogans against government.In Dharampura area of Lahore, residents adopted a novel way to register their protest. They staged a protest on the beat of a drum against electricity, gas and water loadshedding. They also chanted slogans against government and also criticized government’s policies.The residents of Shahdara blocked the main road by burning tyres in protest against long hours of power shutdown.In Sheikhupura, protesters blocked Lahore-Faisalabad Road while the angry demonstrators in Tandliyanwala broke the windscreens of a police van.In Jehlum, protesters blocked GT Road in protest against Sehar and Iftar timings. The protesters also attacked grid station.In Peshawar, protester carrying sticks attacked a Wapda vehicle and broke its wind screen. The protester said that 18-hour power shutdown has made their life miserable. In Shabqadar, demonstrators pelted stones on the grid station while police resorted to aerial firing to disperse the protesters.
