Summary At least 14 people were killed in separate incidents of firing and violence in Karachi on Wednesday.
Two persons were killed and three injured when an explosive device blew up in the Buffer Zone area of North Karachi.The blast took place near a Ranger’s patrol vehicle which was parked in the area killing two people and injuring three others. The vehicle was destroyed in the incident.Some unknown people opened fire on policemen in Pak Colony area and killed Shafqat Gul while Sohail was severely injured.A man was gunned down Liaqatabad No 2. During another incident, Kashif was killed with firing of unidentified men at a sweet shop at Orangi Town Momin Abad while his companion Khurram was severely hurt.In the same way a political worker Tahir was killed in firing incident near Nala Stop at New Karachi.Likewise, miscreants escaped from the site of occurrence after killing a Custom employee Akber Ali at Sharif Abad.Apart from this, a dead body has been found from MC Ground near Civil Hospital. The corpse of a youth also has been found from a stream in the jurisdiction of Memon Goth police station but it can’t be identified.About 50-year-old Yawer Mehdi was killed by firing at Nazimabad Round Market. Besides, a disfigured body of Waseem, resident of Reviewer Road has been found from the area of Mango Pir. In another incident, miscreants murdered a youth Arsalan at Khokhar Apar Malir while another youth named Ihtisham was killed by unidentified robbers in Sirjani.According to sources, the arrested ones are said to have a link with Badshah group.At the same time, some unidentified men escaped after throwing a hand grenade at the house of Faisal Baloch from Lyari gang war. As a result, an old woman was hurt and shifted to hospital for first aid.Four people were also hurt with a cracker blast near Yousaf Plaza in Karachi.On the other hand, the Rangers have arrested 12 alleged terrorists during a targeted operation and recovered sophisticated weapons from their possession.
