ECNEC approves 20 projects of Rs 259 bn

The Executive Committee of National Economic Council (ECNEC) approved 20 projects worth Rs259 billion in a meeting held in Islamabad on Thursday. Federal Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin presided over the meeting. Shaukat Tarin approved Rs128.50 billion for the restoration of the Circular Railway in Karachi. The executive committee also approved Rs 15.88 billion for the purchase of 202 new bogies of Pakistan Railways while 16 projects of worth Rs 102.89 billion have also been approved for the development of water reservoirs, dams and infrastructure. The committee also approved Rs 23.44 for the construction of New Khan Barrage.
