Summary Contempt of court bill 2012 has also been challenged in Supreme Court Lahore registry.
The writ against the contempt of court bill was filed by lawyer Azhar Siddique.In the writ, the applicant stated that the contempt of court bill 2012 is in contrast to article 204 of the constitution, adding that the bill is an attempt to provide immunity to president, prime minister, governors, federal and provincial ministers which is a complete violation to constitution.The writ application has made federal government, President Asif Ali Zardari and PM Raja Pervez Ashraf as respondents to the case.The applicant requested the court to declare the contempt of court bill 2012 null and void.
