Summary Government has decided to raise price of electricity by 19 paisas per unit.
According to sources, the government has also decided to withdraw the subsidy of Rs 12 billion under conditions of loans borrowed from world monetary institutions.After the current decision, the burden of new charges would be imposed on consumers.From November, 2009 to May 2012, the government has increased price of electricity 16 times. After current raise, price of electricity would be Rs 9.7 per unit.
