Summary Supreme Court has issued notices to FIA DG and the Secretary Interior in Ephedrine Case.
The anti narcotics forces also progress report of the said case in the court.A three-member bench of the SC headed by chief justice of pakistan iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry conducted hearing of the said case and the ANF submitted progress report in the court.It was revealed in the report that seven accused involved in the case have been arrested; six are on interim bail while arrest warrants of six proclaimed absconders have also been issued.It was also told in the report that Khushnud Lashari has gone on long leaves and there is no information about his presence.Makhdoom Shahabuddin and Ali Musa Gilani recorded their statements which would prove helpful for the investigation.Moreover, the plea of Deputy Director Drug Enforcement Agency Muhammad Tanveer for becoming a party in the case also has been accepted.Muhammad Tanveer also informed that court that he is being pressurized by Home Secretary and Khushnud Lashari, adding that he also had opposed the agreement when the quota was being allotted.The court while issuing summons to the DG FIA and Home Sectary put off the hearing till July 17.
