Summary Memberships of several lawmakers have already been suspended for holding dual-nationality.
A three member bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry heard the dual-nationality case on Wednesday.During case proceeding , the apex court suspended the membership of MQM MNA Farhat Muhammad Khan and MQM MPA from Sindh‚ Nadia Gabol for possessing dual nationality.Article 63-C of the Constitution says: “A person shall be disqualified from being elected or chosen as, and from being, a member of the Majlis-e-Shoora (Parliament), if: He ceases to be a citizen of Pakistan, or acquires the citizenship of a foreign state…”Hearing of the case has been adjourned for two weeks.
