Summary Doctors in Quetta closed OPDs to protest against the arrests of their colleagues in Punjab.

The patients at the hospitals in Quetta suffered a lot due to absence of the doctors.The young doctors closed OPDs of Quetta’s two main hospitals including Civil Hospital and Bolan Medical Complex to express solidarity with the young doctors in Punjab who are on strike.The Quetta doctors had promised to continue the work despite their protest but they did not attend OPDs on the second day despite the notice taken by the Balochistan CM.More than one million patients come to get treatment from the two main hospitals of the city but the doctors continued to add public miseries due to their absence from duty.Meanwhile, provincial Doctors Association and Young Doctors Association Khyber-Pakhtunkhawa expressed solidarity with young doctors in Punjab.The doctors set up OPDs in lawn of the hospitals and examined the patients.They tied black ribbons on their arms and observed token protest against the arrests of doctors in Punjab.The representatives of the doctors associations threatened to hold protest in all hospitals of the province if their demands were not net.On the other hand, the patients’ condition worsened due to scorching heat.
