NWFP Govt exempts cinemas from entertainment tax for five years

Summary

NWFP Government has exempted cinemas for five years while the provincial government also accepted the summary to regularize 5,000 contract and ad hoc employees. Giving briefing to the media after the 15th session of provincial cabinet, Information Minister Mian Iftikhar said that the stay of government employees at one place would be two years in urban areas, 1.5 years in unattractive areas and one year in hard areas. He revealed that the Cabinet also approved increase in Provincial Public Service Commission members from 10 to 12 which will necessarily include a woman member. He said that NWFP CM had also ordered to law and information departments to do legislation to curb vulgar movies and cables. The Cabinet also approved amendments in Women Act 2004.
