Summary
The Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) has exempted Lahore High Court (LHC) Judge Justice Abdul Shakoor Paracha from the charges of financial misconduct following his resignation. The council directed Sindh High Court (SHC) Justice Muhammad Afzal Soomro to appear before it on September 26. A session of the SJC was held under the chairmanship of Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary that looked into the corruption charges leveled against SHC Justice Muhammad Somro and LHC justice Abdul Shakoor Paracha. Mr. Soomro didnt appear before the councils committee on August 17 on which the council decided to give him one more chance.
