MPAs remarks create ruckus in Punjab Assembly

A ruckus started in the Punjab Assembly on Friday when female members of the Opposition protested against remarks of Sheikh Alauddin against women.The Opposition members also protested against the incidents of arson during the energy protests. They termed the incidents as sponsored terrorism.Muhammad Yar Haraj said that his home was set on fire on theorders of Punjab CM.Harsh words and vulgar remarks were exchanged from both sides.The Opposition staged a symbolic walkout and informed the Speaker about the lack of quorum.When the proceeding started again, Sheikh Alauddin passed vulgar remarks against women MPAs in the Opposition.Reacting to his offensive remarks, the women MPAs raised slogans and gathered before Speaker Rana Muhammad Iqbal’s dais.The treasury members gathered around Sheikh Alauddin to protect him while PML-Q MPA Seemal Kamran tore copies of budget and threw at PML-N members.The PML-N female MPA Anjum Safdar threw a shoe at the Opposition members after which the 0pposition protested against Punjab government and boycotted the proceeding.
