PPP leader Fauzia Wahab has been laid to rest in Gizri Grraveyard Karachi.

Earlier, her funeral prayer was offered at mosque in Defence area of the city. Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah, Adviser to prime minister on interior affairs Rehman Malik, federal ministers, leaders’ of the PPP, MQM and locals attended the funeral.Fauzia Wahab died on Sunday. Pakistan Peoples Party has announced to observe ten days mourning to pay homage to Fauzia Wahab.Fauzia Wahab was admitted in a private hospital on May 27 due to her sudden illness. She was under treatment since then. She had undergone three operations in that time duration.Former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto Shaheed had nominated Fauzia Wahab as Information Secretary of women s wing of the PPP in Sindh. in 1997 general elections she was nominated to contest the elections on NA-193‚ as a PPP candidate.In 1998‚ Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto nominated Fauzia Wahab as the Central Coordinator of the Human Rights Cell and was tasked to correspond with human rights defending organizations abroad.She was also a senior member of the Finance Committee of the National Assembly that looked after the budget of the assembly.
