Summary The Cabinet committee deliberated at length about over all loadshedding management in the country.
The Cabinet Committee on Energy which met here on Friday with the Federal Minister for Finance and Economic Affairs, Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh was informed that two thousand MW of electricity can be added in the national grid provided that gas or furnace oil is provided in this regard.The Cabinet committee deliberated at length about the over all loadshedding management in the country and asked the Ministry of Water and Power to ensure that the DISCOs be made to follow the loadshedding formulas, and non-complaint DISCOs or theirs responsible be brought to task.The committee has expressed its reservations that despite the presence of the central control system operating within the command of the Water and Power Division how could the DISCOs venture to violate the system.The Chairman of the committee Dr. Abdul Hafeez Shaikh taking exception of the serious management problems in dealing with the loadshedding by the DISCOs said that the committee then will decide how to revive the confidence of the public, by resorting to some stern actions against the non-complaints.
